The Beddington Heights Custom Garage is a stunning example of how customizable a garage can be. The homeowners wanted a clean, functional space in their newly purchased backyard. Our Corsac team transformed a small, damaged concrete pad on a sloped yard into a double-car garage, complete with a leveled patio and stairs to ensure safe and comfortable access.

Design & Execution

We began by removing the existing concrete pad, followed by the old retaining wall, which was damaged and deteriorating. After clearing out all shrubs and structures, our team started the excavation process, carefully shaping a smooth slope toward the back alley.

The next step is concrete formwork installation and concrete wall construction. This is a multi-step process that requires adequate time for the concrete to cure before the next pour. We ensured that reinforcing steel (rebar) was properly installed, along with a polyethylene vapour barrier, and applied bitumen sealant for additional protection of the retaining wall. The final steps in the concrete process included applying a surface sealant to the pad and cutting control joints to help manage cracking.

Once the foundation was completed, our framing and finishing team came into action. We used only high-quality materials from reliable suppliers in our work. Every stage of the process reflects excellent craftsmanship and professionalism.

The customers decided to choose a different color for the garage siding, selecting a beautiful shade of blue. This choice not only complements the surrounding landscaping but also enhances the overall aesthetic of the property. The rich blue tone, complemented by dark aluminum accents, adds a sense of elegance and luxury to the garage exterior, creating a cohesive and visually appealing look that blends seamlessly with the yard and elevates the home’s curb appeal.

Meanwhile, exterior work was completed to create a walkway area leading to the garage and alleyway. First, a wooden retaining wall was constructed, followed by the installation of new, durable composite steps. The steps were finished with a sleek aluminum railing for a modern touch. The walkway was completed using a combination of gravel and concrete paving tiles, resulting in a clean, polished, and visually appealing finish.

The end result exceeded expectations. We created a highly functional backyard featuring a garage and a convenient side path for easy access from the house to the garage and onward to the back alley. The new retaining wall provides strong support for the garage while adding a clean, finished look to the space.
